The Value of Bequests giving rescue animals a chance

Many people are not aware of the tremendous value of a leaving a bequest in their will to a charitable organisation. After a family has been provided for, there is no better way to continue to support a cause in which you truly believe.

A bequest to the AWL can ensure that stray and abandoned animals are given every chance to find a home where they can receive the love, comfort and attention they deserve.

Without bequests, the Animal Welfare League would not have been able to build the housing and facilites that have enabled us to care for over 10,000 animals annually.

Monetary and property bequests have also allowed us to implement many special programs, and to continue working towards our goal to end the euthanasia of healthy pets simply because there are not enough homes available.

The Legacy Program peace of mind for pet owners

The greatest concern that all pet owners have is "What will happen to my pets when I pass away?" The AWL recognises this concern, and believes that all animals should have the opportunity to live out the rest of their lives in comfort and security.

When the need arises, your beloved pets can be placed into an AWL Legacy Foster Home where they will continue to receive human companionship, love and care.

You simply need to include instructions in your will indicating your wish that your pets come into the care of the Animal Welfare League. You also should contact the AWL so we can arrange to have full details of all your pets, their needs, and any other special requirements that your pets need.

The philosophy of the AWL is that the welfare of animals is paramount. In keeping with this, you can include instructions in your will that your pets come into the care of the AWL with or without an accompanying bequest.
