Hi, my name's Panda. I've been living with my elderly Dad for the past 12 years and, sadly, he passed away recently leaving me pretty confused and scared. Luckily, I know some of the ladies here at the AWL (they have been caring for me on and off for many years during my dads visits to hospital). When you know me I'm really a lovely girl but I do, like many Chihuahuas, snap first and ask questions later. Its nothing personal but its just been the two of us all my life and I've never had many people around. However, since being in my foster home and spending more time at the shelter I am much better than I was and am making friends daily - hey, if you take me for a walk and give my back a scratch I'll be your friend for life. I've never had anything to do with other dogs, and would prefer not to at this stage in my life, and those other furry things with 4 legs - I heard someone call them cats the other day - really get my back up. Kids are another thing I really don't understand and I think it would be better not to have anything to do with them. I'm good with adult visitors though, so long as they're not pushy and let me have my space. Each night I go to sleep and dream of an older person, or even couple, seeing my beautiful photo and wanting to make the effort to make me a part of their family. Do you think you might be the one?
