These little girls were surrendered to the Animal Welfare League of Qld Gold Coast Rehoming Centre in early April when their owner was moving due to work and could not take them with him.Chino is a stunning seal point Ragdoll, Honey a huggable Domestic Short Haired puss.

These two sweethearts eat, sleep and play together and fret when they are apart. When our staff saw the bond they shared they knew they had to find them a home together.

Finding homes for two adult cats together would prove not easy. For months they waited in their cat rehoming quarters waiting for a special family to come and take them both home.

There was interest in one cat or the other but no-one who was interested in rehoming them both. That was until Chino was spotted on the news by Eileen Turner, a lady who a year ago lost her Ragdoll to a medical condition. When she saw Chino playing at the AWLQ, she knew she just had to meet her.

When Eileen and her husband learned of Honey & Chino’s history they decided to adopt them both and on the 27 of June 2012 Chino & Honey left the AWLQ and began a new life in their forever home.

A sincere thanks from the AWLQ to Pat and Eileen Turner for choosing to adopt and giving these two wonderful animals a second chance.

Without the financial support of the community the Animal Welfare League of Qld would not be able to care for the 15,000 cats and dogs that need our help.

For over 53 years we have been rehoming animals and giving them a second chance at a happy life.
