Fresh off the field from scoring a try in his maiden State of Origin series, Titan’s prop Jarrod Wallace swaps his maroon football jersey for a purple T-shirt as he commences his new role as an AWLQ Ambassador.

Born and bred on the Gold Coast, Jarrod has grown up with dogs and currently owns two energetic golden retrievers called Maggie and Floyd. The male and female siblings are one year old and much-loved family pets.

“I have always been involved with animals in some form and have continued this tradition with my own little family,” Jarrod said.

“I come from a large family and growing up we always had dogs and also birds around the house. My parents currently own a cockatiel called Donny, who is a real character. Donny landed on the roof of my parents’ house about six years ago and stayed as their pet ever since,” Jarrod continued.

Jarrod chose to become an AWLQ Ambassador after recently visiting its Coombabah Rehoming Centre with fellow Titans team player and AWLQ Ambassador, Chris McQueen. Jarrod tells that he was moved to become an ambassador after witnessing firsthand the work that AWLQ does.

Being an ardent animal lover, Jarrod strongly believes in the work AWLQ does in creating a brighter future for companion animals in need.

“I visited AWLQ about a month ago and was so impressed by the great job everyone does there. Knowing how important AWLQ’s work with animals is, I was really pleased when I was asked to put my name to their important cause,” commented Jarrod.

Jarrod comes from a close-knit family and is the son of football legend, Craig Wallace. His family are extremely proud of his recent achievements playing at State of Origin:

“Playing State of Origin was a completely awesome experience, which I will never forget. My family were right there beside me every step of the way, which made it a very special time.”

With a State of Origin win behind him, Jarrod is now focussed on his new role as Ambassador for AWLQ.

We warmly welcome Jarrod to the AWLQ family.
