Kennel and Cat Pen Sponsorship Programs

To help with the ongoing everyday costs of feeding and providing veterinary care to the animals at the Sanctuary, Kennel and Cat Pen Sponsorship Programs have been established.
Companies or families who wish to sponsor a dog kennel or cat/kitten pen can choose a pen which will then have a permanent sign fixed to the front displaying their company/family name (for the duration of their sponsorship).
The sponsorship fee of $500 per year for Gold Level Sponsorship, $350 per year for Silver Level Sponsorship and $250 per year for Bronze Level Sponsorship will be put towards the feeding and veterinary costs of the animals in that pen. The signs are A4 size, made of Perspex and will have wording of your choice on it. Space will be available for a company logo on all Gold Sponsorship signs.

If you would like to become a Kennel Sponsor, please CLICK HERE to download the form, or CLICK HERE if you would like to sponsor a Cat Pen. Complete the form and send to:

Tree of Life

The Animal Welfare League continues to open its doors to over 12,000 strayed and abandoned animals each year. We have never turned away an animal in need, the doors are always open and we need to make sure that they stay that way.

The Tree of Life is a symbol of the new life and the brighter future given to each animal we rehabilitate, rescue, rehome or reunite here at the Animal Welfare League Qld. You can make a difference in the life of one of these beautiful animals by showing your support and forming part of our Tree.

The AWL Tree of Life will proudly spread its' branches in pride of place at the entrance of our new building. This building will form part of our new and improved animal care facilities. When you donate to the AWL Qld Tree of Life, you become part of our tree forever. You can have your name engraved on a leaf, branch or stone, with seven levels of donation options available.

The Tree of Life is a monument to the dedication of our supporters, and a reflection of the generosity and concern of the community. To be a part of this wonderful project and help us continue to brighten the lives of strayed and abandoned companion animals donate today to the Tree of Life Appeal, CLICK HERE to download a form, complete and send to:

Mobile Phone Project

mobilephonesDid you know you can help save the lives of innocent animals just by giving away something you don't need any more?

The Animal Welfare League of Queensland (AWL) is joining the Aussie Recycling Program (ARP), and Australian initiative to recycle mobile phones whilst at the same time benefiting Australian charities, or more specifically in our case, stray and abandoned animals in need.
ARP statistics show more than 7.5 million phones were sold last year, and the same quantity is expected to sell this year, further adding to the estimated 16-26 million phones lying around in home cupboards and office desks.
To prevent mobile phones ending up in landfill ARP has created this program to help avoid future environmental problems - but it's more than just recycling the handset itself. Mobile phones contain poisonous substances which then leach from decomposing waste in landfills and can seep into groundwater, contaminate the soil and enter the food chain.
The program is free for charities and AWL is pleased to be the recipient of $5 per mobile phone donated.
Out aim is to collect 10,000 phones and raise $50,000 to assist in the cost of the 2009 building project at the Coombabah Rehoming Centre for the 12,000 animals that are in our care each year.
To ensure this fundraiser is given the best chance to succeed please donate your old mobile phones and spread the word to as many family, friends and colleagues as possible. Collection bins will be at all the AWL Op Shop locations and the Coombabah Rehoming Centre of if you prefer, we can place a collection bin in your workplace or club for easier access.

Donate food, toys and bedding for our animals

AWL care for approximately 10,000 dogs and cats each year and receive no government funding for welfare work, which creates a very big food bill for the organisation. You can help by donating good quality dry and tinned food for our dogs and cats currently in our care. You can donate food directly at an AWL rehoming centre, Op Shop, Vet Clinic, at one of our external rehoming centre locations or one of our shopping centre food bin locations.

Dogs at the Animal Welfare League of Qld are lucky enough to go for a beach run several times a week, but how do we keep them entertained once they're back at the Rehoming Centre? With toys! Big, strong, treat-filled toys are what they love best, but they can be expensive for the shelter to replace. You can help by buying a Kong chew toy from the AWL's onsite pet supply store, and not only will your purchase help by keeping our dogs happy and occupied, but the money spent on your purchase will also go towards the care of our animals. So, next time you're visiting, buy a Kong and help keep our dogs happy.

You may be asking what other items do we need and WHAT ABOUT OUR CATS??? Click here to download a full wishlist from our animals.

All donations of goods can be delivered to any AWL op shop, rehoming centre or you can drop them into one of our handy food bins in your local shopping centre.
