Tax Appeal 2017

Thousands of animals rely on Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ) for survival.

Help us help them when no one else will.

DOnaTE Now

Our promise to you is that we will never euthanise a sociABLE, healthy or treatable companion animal, whatever THEIR age.

As leaders in the field of rehoming, AWLQ continues to pioneer new initiatives to ensure as many animals as possible get the second chance they deserve.

We believe that no animal deserves a life of uncertainty or fear and we rely on financial support from the community to uphold OUR PROMISE to you and the animals in our care.

As a valued supporter, we would like to share a story with you, in the hope that it will touch your heart, as it touched ours.

Six abandoned Cattle Dog puppies arrived at AWLQ in
desperate need of life-saving treatment.

With no sign of typical, puppy playful bounciness or wiggly tails, these orphans were in a critical condition with our veterinary team fearing the worst.

At just 2 weeks-old these orphans were already at their most vulnerable stage in life before being diagnosed with a disease that broke our hearts - Canine Parvovirus (Parvo) – a highly contagious and
life-threatening viral disease.

Due to the lack of care and neglect before arriving at AWLQ, the six pups were also diagnosed with Ringworm – an equally contagious, severe fungal infection.

During our busiest time of the year, all AWLQ Rehoming Centres and shelter clinics were at full capacity, making it an even bigger challenge to facilitate the intensive and costly treatment these puppies needed to survive.

AWLQ made space for all six puppies within a special-purpose quarantine room at our Gold Coast Community Vet Clinic. Using vital funds from your donations and the expertise of our veterinary team, the pups would spend the next few weeks fighting for their lives.

After receiving two long months of expensive treatment and tireless nurturing, we were thrilled to announce that all six puppies fought with us and survived!

Each year AWLQ rehomes nearly 9,000 surrendered and abandoned animals and we will never euthanise a social, healthy or treatable companion animal, whatever its age - these puppies were no exception to OUR PROMISE.

Your donations ensured all six orphan puppies were given
a second chance at life, against all odds.

Astra, Alaska, Jiggly, Bentley, Little Bean and Tansy were wagging their little tails as they made their final journey to their new family and adopted into permanent, loving homes.

A tax-deductible donation will ensure that innocent and vulnerable animals just like these six abandoned pups can receive the lifesaving treatment they deserve and need to survive.

Donate today and save the lives of thousands tomorrow.

AWLQ is a registered Donation Gift Recipient (DGR) meaning all donations over $2 are tax deductible - so don’t miss out this financial year!

Sadly, an unbelievable amount of animals become neglected, abandoned and surrendered every year. Without AWLQ thousands of them would suffer and many would die.

Each year, nearly 9,000 animals rely on AWLQ and
we achieve lifesaving results every single day.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this letter and learn about our promise. Please donate to the 2017 AWLQ Tax Appeal and help us provide a brighter future for animals in need.

With your help, we can continue to save lives.

Kind regards,

Denise Bradley
CEO - Animal Welfare League Queensland
