Learn more about Charlie

Meet Charlie, our gorgeous Alexandrine Parrot! The Alexandrine Parrot is a bright, gentle and independent bird that is known to be hardy and relatively quiet. These birds require a cage tall enough to accommodate their long tail feathers, an XL cage with plenty of space to move around or aviary is best. They love using their brains and benefit from a variety of toys - especially those of the puzzle kind! If you can hide nuts or dried fruit in them, they are can be especially entertaining for Charlie who is always ready for a challenge! Charlie's diet should consist of a good quality seed along with fresh fruit and vegetables. Alexandrine Parrots are known to be playful and can be quite talkative, able to amass an impressive vocabulary and can make a wonderful family pet. Alexandrines are loyal birds, and often bond with multiple family members, unlike a few other species. They are quick to learn tricks and are capable acrobats. We're sure with the right TLC and continued handling, Charlie will be your best friend in no time!

This website is live and updates frequently. To check if an animal is available, please check their adoption profile. If it is active and hasn’t been marked as ‘adopted’, the animal is still here.

Please be aware there is a chance that by the time you arrive at our location, the animal you have an interest in might have been adopted, or another party might be going through the adoption process.
