Learn more about Ruffels

Hi friends, Ruffles here! Boy, some people are surprised when they hear that pigeons make wonderful companion animals and pets. But I can tell you we are inquisitive, sweet and absolutely lovely to be around. I am still a little scared of people but would happily hang out with the right gentle and patient person. We are a little from other pet birds when it comes to our preferences. We need a living space that's wider than it's tall, we like spending time on the ground and lower perches. We can live up to 15 years if well loved and cared for so an appropriate living space is crucial. Other than that we are really easy to look after, just fresh water, and seeds, fruit and vegetables for food. Some of us really like foraging enrichment and toys too! And if you're lucky, some of us also let you give us a little cuddle sometimes! Ideally I'd like a home with other pigeons, so I will have someone in my life who speaks my language. If I sound like your kind of a friend, hurry up and come meet me today!

PLEASE DONATE.

Please visit our Animal Rehoming Centres during opening hours to meet our animals and adopt. No appointment is needed. For select animals, we will require an email application. Where this is the case, instructions will be specified on the animal’s profile.

This website is live and updates frequently. To check if an animal is available, please check their adoption profile. If it is active and hasn’t been marked as ‘adopted’, the animal is still here.

Please be aware there is a chance that by the time you arrive at our location, the animal you have an interest in might have been adopted, or another party might be going through the adoption process.
