I'm Bernadette, lovely to meet you! My time at AWLQ began back in December 2021. I came to the shelter with terrible burns on my head and neck, and have been on the road to recovery ever since. But now my beautiful coat has grown back and with my wounds healed, I am now ready to find a nice home where I can settle down and live out the rest of my days in peace and comfort. I've spent the last six months in foster care while I recovered, during which the lovely vet team at AWL Ipswich have been trialing me on different medication and foods. The good news is we think they've finally found the perfect combo! My skin is very sensitive so I will need to be on my special food (Royal Canin Anallergenic) and tablets my whole life as my skin flairs up each time I am not on these. In foster, I loved spending the mornings sitting in the sun rays in the window and on those chilly nights, I was spoilt rotten with a heated blanket that my foster mum shared with me. I would spend ages making toasty biscuits for her! I am harness-trained and I enjoy going outside on the harness (or safety of a cat run). When I get to visit the office at AWL, I love to chill on the chairs like one of the staff and watch the customers come and go. I LOVE adult humans (especially when they give me head pats!) but I'm not the biggest fan of other animals, so would prefer to be your only pet at home if possible. If you're looking for an affectionate, loving, relaxed cat who will spend the days snoozing by your side, come down to the Ipswich AWL Rehoming Centre to meet me! Lots of love, Bernadette (Bernie). xxx
