World Animal Day 2020
There is nothing like sharing a brew with your best bud….the four legged kind that is!
We have a soft spot for BUDS (big ugly dogs) and have a dedicated team who help these lovable larrikins that might otherwise struggle to find a home due to being a bit too cheeky.
The costs associated with this are significant – providing shelter, veterinary care, enrichment and training – we need all the help we can get so we can keep our promise to never euthanise a healthy, social or treatable BUD in our care.
Black Hops Brewery are all a bit dog-mad, so when they heard about the incredible lifesaving work we do they knew they wanted to help. Cheers to that!
We’re teaming up with Black Hops to celebrate World Animal Day by raising funds for our lovable BUDS throughout October. We’re hoping you might be keen to get on board too.
To kick things off, join us on Saturday, 3rd October 2020 at Black Hops HQ Burleigh Heads or Black Hops II Biggera Waters from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, both venues are pet friendly, and have a BREW from one of the karma kegs to help the BUDS. AWLQ will be bringing along some BUDS (the four legged kind) and there will be raffles and giveaways. See you there!
You can also help us reach our target by donating at GoFundMe.

Other ways you can support AWLQ during October:
- Visit and donate at the Black Hops HQ Burleigh Heads or Black Hops II Biggera Waters.
- Donate via AWLQ’s website and encourage others to do the same.
- Shout a virtual brew and donate what you’d normally spend on your brew to AWLQ.
- Host your own BREWS & BUDS, please email us for more information.
- Become a Promise Keeper (regular giver) for the cost of a brew each week to help BUDS all year round.
We are aware that these times are challenging for us all. We also know that you join us in caring deeply about abandoned and homeless animals. If you can simply share our social posts or our GoFundMe campaign that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your compassion today and throughout the year.
