Animal Antics

Animal Antics is a one-day school holiday program for children 6 – 10 years old. The program offers a range of animal-related activities that are designed to be fun and hands-on while also teaching children responsible care and respect for animals. The one day program runs from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm in the school holidays.

Throughout the day, children work through a range of structured, hands-on activities related to the care of companion animals. Children do a combination of small and whole group activities, which includes supervised contact time with our animals. Children also have the opportunity to get a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the AWLQ Rehoming Centre.

Children receive a ‘take-home’ pack at the end of the day that includes a sticker, colouring sheets and magazines. The number of children in the program is capped at a maximum of 30 per day, so as to allow for small group activities. To enrol in the Animal Antics Activities Day just find which dates are available and follow the prompts to register. The program is extremely popular, so we recommend getting in as early as possible to avoid disappointment! Bookings are essential!

COST: $50 per child (6-10 years)

In response to the increasing concern regarding Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Animal Welfare League Queensland is implementing a series of plans to mitigate the risks associated with this.

This includes temporarily suspending our School Holiday Programs.

These proactive measures are being taken in an effort to keep our animals, staff, volunteers, and customers safe, follow the recommendations of health officials, and allow our team to focus on supporting our community and continuing our lifesaving work. We will continue to maintain the high standards of animal care we always provide.

The safety and well-being of our customers and team is our number one priority, we are closely monitoring the situation and making real-time adjustments as needed. Further updates will be provided through our social media channels.

We thank you for your understanding and support during these challenging times.
