Happy Tails – adoption stories
Late last year, Gus adopted from our Gold Coast Rehoming Centre. “Gus was a tiny 5-month old bag of bones when we met. He is now my shadow and every day we tell him how lucky we are to have him.
The joy, the new friends, the ‘teef’ smiles…he’s healed our hearts after saying goodbye to our two elderly family pooches within about a year of one another. Nearly 2 now, Gus melts hearts all over town, takes mum out for daily walks, loves a good fruit salad, and identifies as a greyhound at the dog park. Gus loves story time, and abides by all rules, particularly staying off the good couch.”
Athena (previously Skylah) was adopted over a year ago, from the Gold Coast Rehoming centre. “It was absolutely the best decision of our lives. She’s shifted from a timid, reserved shelter cat into a playful, mischievous, and full of good-natured attitude kitty, and we love every second of it.
Athena’s really turned our lives around for the better! If only she’d stop stealing our shopping bags… ;).”
Koda was adopted 11 years ago from AWLQ. “The second I saw her on Facebook, I knew she was the one! I rushed home to get Lucca (my other dog) and went to meet her. Straight away Lucca and Koda were the perfect pair
Koda was the most special dog, everyone who met her instantly fell in love with her. She was so gentle and sweet, I couldn’t have asked for a better best friend. Unfortunately we recently had to say goodbye to her and it so happened to be on the exact same day that I adopted her 11 years later. I will always be thankful for all the love she gave us and the years we got to have together. Koda will forever be in our hearts!”
