Vet Clinics

Animal Welfare League Queensland was the first, and remains to be the only, organisation in Queensland to open a Community Veterinary Clinic to the public. This unique service makes essential vet care accessible to all pet owners including those previously unable to afford treatment for their pets.

Our commitment to Keeping pets and people together saves countless animals’ lives and avoids many animals having to enter the shelter. Our Community Vet Clinics assist pet owners so that they never need to face a decision to unnecessarily euthanise or surrender their much loved pets.

Any profits made through our Community Vet Clinics at Brisbane, Gold Coast and Ipswich provide further funding for the rehoming of shelter animals as well as education and foster care for animals in need.

Feline Vaccines – Due to a nationwide shortage we have limited supplies and are currently prioritising kitten vaccinations and booster appointments for our feline friends. Please call the clinic directly to make your appointment. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

Our priority is to protect shelter cats with limited vaccine supplies. Here’s what you need to know:

1. Keep your cats indoors to reduce disease exposure.

2. Cats with a complete vaccination history due for boosters in Nov/Dec can reschedule for the New Year.

3. Contact local vet clinics to assist kittens or cats with no history or overdue boosters.

In addition to these measures, we are committed to supporting your feline companions’ overall health and well-being. To help you maintain your cats’ health during this time, we will offer a 20% discount on annual health check consultations.

We’re working hard to secure a stable vaccine supply for a quick return to regular vaccinations. For questions or appointments, contact your nearest AWLQ Community Vet Clinic.

Our charter

The charter of Animal Welfare League Queensland’s Community Vet Clinics is that no sick or suffering animal is ever turned away, irrespective of an owner’s capacity to pay for treatment.

To have a Community Veterinary Clinic that is accessible to pets in need, and knowing that no sick or suffering animal will ever be turned away, is truly an outstanding achievement for animal welfare.

Animal Welfare League Queensland Community Vet Clinics also offer low-cost desexing, assisting to prevent unwanted litters of kittens and puppies being born, and ultimately the pain and suffering of unwanted animals being abandoned in pounds and shelters.
