Hi, I’m Cheddar!
When I first came into the shelter, I was so scared – everything felt big and loud and unfamiliar. But my foster family has shown me that people aren’t so scary after all, and every day I’m learning how to be brave. I may seem cautious at first, but deep down I’m a big softie who just needs a little time to shine. My dream is to find someone who can help me continue my journey toward becoming the bravest kitty ever.

I’ll need some patience and a quiet, cozy space to help me settle into my new home. I’m not a fan of being picked up or handled too much, but once I feel safe, I melt for cheek scritches and gentle chin rubs. I’m an independent girly who loves simply being near you-sharing a room, enjoying the calm, and taking comfort in your presence.

I’d prefer a home without small children, and while energetic dogs can feel overwhelming for me, a gentle, easy-going dog who respects my space could be a great match. I might thrive with a friendly kitty sibling, too-another confident cat could help me continue building my own confidence, especially with a slow and thoughtful introduction.

And if you want to win my heart? Purée treats are my absolute weakness. I adore them, and offering me one is a guaranteed way to help me feel safe, connected, and ready to trust. Once I’m comfy, bring out the wand toys-they’re my favorite way to show off my playful side!
