📖 Once upon a time, there was a gentle giant named Chief who found himself in care at AWL. He felt a little unsure of the big, busy world around him. Everything was new and he needed time to learn that life could be kind. The staff and volunteers had done incredible foundational work, so Chief headed into foster care, where patience, quiet encouragement, and consistency helped him slowly find his feet. 🐾 With each small win, his confidence grew – and today, he’s a completely different dog with a soft heart and a hopeful (and cheeky) spirit. ✨

Chief is the kind of boy who doesn’t rush into friendships, but when he trusts you, he truly gives his whole heart. He’s looking for experienced adopters who are happy to turn the page slowly, investing time, training, and love as they build a strong bond together.

Chief can be a little unsure of other dogs and would be content to be the main character, but he would be open to being the sidekick to your existing pooch with proper introductions and right dynamic. 🐕‍🦺

🏡 Chief’s future home is that of a calm, low-traffic space where he can enjoy his quality time with his humans. If there are small minions in the home, Chief asks that they they be a little older and taller so he won’t knock them over and can help with his training. For the right family, Chief’s next chapter could be the best one yet – and include you!
