πΏ About Lovebirds:
Lovebirds are small, social parrots known for their bright plumage and even brighter personalities! With proper care, they can live for 10-15 years, forming strong bonds with their humans and/or avian companions.
While some lovebirds do well solo with daily human interaction, many benefit from having a bonded mate, so we’d love to see this little one go to a home where they’ll never be lonely-whether that’s with a gentle human or another birdy bestie (if introductions are done carefully).
π‘ Enclosure & Environment:
Lovebirds are highly active and need plenty of space to flap, climb, and play. We recommend:
A minimum cage size of 80cm (L) x 50cm (W) x 80cm (H) with horizontal bars for climbing.
Plenty of natural perches, safe toys, and foraging opportunities to prevent boredom.
Daily out-of-cage time in a safe, bird-proofed room to stretch their wings and satisfy their curiosity.
π₯ Diet:
A healthy lovebird diet includes:
A balanced pellet base (about 60-70% of the diet).
Fresh vegetables (like leafy greens, carrot, sweet potato) offered daily.
Occasional fruits (like apple or berries – no avocado or apple seeds!).
Access to fresh water at all times, and a calcium source such as cuttlebone.
Seeds can be offered as treats or training rewards but shouldn’t make up the bulk of the diet.
π Care & Companionship:
Lovebirds are highly social and require daily interaction-they’ll sing, chirp, and play with you once they feel safe and bonded.
They are intelligent and enjoy learning tricks, playing with toys, and engaging in enrichment activities.
Keep your lovebird in a warm, draft-free area away from harmful fumes (like non-stick cookware or smoke).
With patience and kindness, lovebirds can become incredibly affectionate companions. This little one is waiting for someone special to offer them a forever perch in their heart and home.
