Kathryn joined the AWLQ family as a volunteer in 2008, primarily working with the dogs at our Beenleigh Rehoming Centre. With her previous TAFE lecturing experience she quickly gravitated to our Education division before moving into her role as our Education Programs Coordinator. Kathryn now manages & coordinates all of our education programs across all of our rehoming centres in South East Queensland. Kathryn has a Cert III in Dog Behaviour & Training and has 2 education dogs – Lovely Lucy & Mr. Clooney – both of whom are used to visit schools to assist in spreading the word about responsible pet ownership and being safe around dogs, which is an integral part of our education focus.

Theresa Fallon

Education Officer

Theresa joined the AWLQ as a volunteer in 2010, whilst studying her Cert III in Dog Behaviour & Training. Shortly after completing her studies she was employed by the AWLQ as an animal attendant at our Beenleigh Rehoming Centre. Theresa joined the education team as an education officer in 2014 and has subsequently completed her training as a puppy pre-school instructor. She is an integral part of the education team, assisting with all of our programmes as well as running the Partnership Project, which facilitates relationships between shelter dogs & disengaged youth, achieving better outcomes for both human & animal relationships. Theresa also shares some of her time with our volunteering division, equipping all new volunteers with vital dog handling skills.
