Pawsome Pals
PAWSOME PALS IS A 2 HOUR SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN 6 – 10 YEARS OLD. THE PROGRAM OFFERS TWO HOURS OF ENGAGEMENT, PATS AND CUDDLES WITH OUR SHELTER CATS, POCKET PETS AND DOGS. WE AIM TO TEACH CHILDREN RESPONSIBLE CARE AND RESPECT FOR ANIMALS, WHILST HAVING FUN! THE PROGRAM RUNS FROM 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM ON SELECTED DAYS IN THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS.
Children do a combination of small and whole group activities, which includes supervised contact time with our animals. Children also have the opportunity to get a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the AWLQ Rehoming Centre.
Children receive a ‘take-home’ pack at the end of the session that includes colouring sheets, pet safety information and magazines. The number of children in the program is capped at a maximum of 25 per day, so as to allow for small group activities. To enrol in the Pawsome Pals Activity just find which dates are available and follow the prompts to register. The program is extremely popular, so we recommend getting in as early as possible to avoid disappointment!
