In addition, we can help arrange interviews with our spokespeople and offer case studies and statements on animal-related matters. Expert comments and interviews
AWLQ is one of Australia’s leading animal charities and has been a champion of animal welfare for 60 years. Our staff have a wealth of expertise and are available to give comments or interviews on request.

As an industry leader in animal welfare, we can provide statistics and case studies about pet ownership, adoption, veterinary care and animal behaviour.

Filming locations
Our Gold Coast Animal Rehoming Centres can accommodate news filming on request or TV programmes relating to animals or animal welfare.

Guidelines for media
AWLQ is responsible for the operation and management of the Beenleigh Animal Rehoming Centre, Brisbane Animal Rehoming Centres, Gold Coast Animal Rehoming Centre, Ipswich Animal Rehoming Centre and AWLQ Community Vet Clinics.

Media representatives are welcome within the publicly accessible areas of the Gold Coast Animal Rehoming Centre, including the adoption areas, when obtaining footage or photos for news and current affairs programs or publications. We do however request that these courtesies are adhered.

If you are a student journalist

Wherever possible, AWLQ likes to assist journalism students with their enquiries and interview requests. Please note that our ability to take part depends on the capacity of our small team.

We invite you to email all student enquiries directly to our Communications & PR Manager at communications@awlqld.com.au. Please include as much detail as possible, including the specific interview questions and deadline. Student requests generally take 10 working days to turn around.

We will do our best to help with student enquiries however please be aware that, as a charity, we can’t guarantee to help you in time for your deadline.
