Von Bibra donations helping the AWLQ motor along.

10 December 2012

Von Bibra Auto Village will be meeting with the Animal Welfare League of Queensland to present a cheque for $3,000 to launch an ongoing partnership which will see $20 from every car sold at Von Bibra’s Southport, Robina, Ferry Rd. and Helensvale dealerships donated to the AWLQ and another Gold Coast based charity organisation.

This partnership, an initiative brought about by Von Bibra’s active community spirit, has been developed with the goal of  assisting the AWLQ so they can continue their work  to take in and offer care and rehoming opportunities to up to 10,000 animals each year.

Von Bibra Auto Village General Manager Wade Von Bibra says the company is excited to start this partnership with the AWLQ noting, “As a proud Gold Coast Business, we are a big believer that we have a responsibility to support the community that supports us, this is a fantastic opportunity to do exactly that” he says.

“The AWLQ serves an important role in not only saving animals lives but in providing rehoming opportunities that create lifelong friends for many families”.

“Based on recent car sale figures we would hope to see the AWLQ receive tens of thousands of dollars in donations from the Von Bibra Auto Village over the next 12 months.”

The initial donation from Von Bibra will help defray the costs of feeding, desexing, microchipping, and vaccinating animals currently at AWLQ shelters. As Brooke Whitney, Communications manager for the AWLQ, explains “Every animal that arrives at our shelter needs to medically cared for, fed and housed until we successfully find them a new home. The funding raised and donated by Von Bibra Auto Village will help us immensely and we are grateful for their enthusiastic and generous support.”

The AWLQ is in its 53rd year of operation and cares for over 10,000 animals every year.
